Snow Leopard Trust

We endorse the Snow Leopard Trust for the following reasons:

• Their program provides a rare synergy of caring for nature, and the local people.
• They combine scientific habitat research with cultural awareness and political diplomacy in a region where that is not easy.
• They use 92% of their total expenses on program services. When we complimented them about this they refused to accept the compliment, saying that other charities may just draw the line between program services and other expenses differently, and that they would support any motion to provide a more objective standard. This, we feel, is very much in the generous spirit of alternative giving.
